Helen Grundy

Helen Grundy is an object maker and digital collage artist who creates surreal simulated worlds. Her artworks are souvenirs from these imagined realms. Combining model making, fabrication, drawing, found objects, photography and collage, she creates hybrid works that are windows into soft territories where she plays with the aesthetics of utopia, concepts of cuteness and kitsch, superfictional spaces where she imagines a different, non nihilistic future.

Helen strives to make her practice environmentally sustainable so uses a wide range of found objects, used paper ephemera, charity shop finds and trash. She refrerences punk ideology in her work, making something from nothing and embodies a DIY ethos to making contemporary art. Helen exhibits both nationally and internationally and has been awarded funding from The Arts Council to develop her creative practice and deliver projects. Her works are collected in private and public collections.
